Surgical instruments are tools or devices that perform such functions as cutting, dissecting, grasping, holding, retracting, suturing, surgery or operation. Most surgical instruments are made from stainless steel. Other metals and alloys, including titanium and tungsten carbide, are also used.
Purpose
Surgical instruments facilitate a variety of procedures and operations. Specialized surgical packs contain the most common instruments needed for particular surgeries.
